It is necessary to wear Flame Resistance Sleeves & Bibs to protect arms from sparks and flames encountered during welding since they act as protection for arms. Typically, they are made of leather, treated fabrics, or other materials resistant to heat and sparks. Sleeves & bibs with flame resistance are worn with gloves and other protective clothing as needed. The sleeves are pulled over the hand and wrist and extend up the arm toward the shoulder. For workers who are welding overhead or at chest height, bib sleeves protect their arms, upper chest, and upper back.
