Generally, chemical-resistant gloves are made of a rubber polymer that is resistant to liquid chemicals such as acids, oils, and solvents. It is not uncommon for chemical workers, coatings workers, biomedical researchers, and oil and gas workers to wear protective clothing when preparing or manufacturing chemicals, applying coatings to raw materials, or conducting biomedical research. As a part of the manufacturing process, chemical-resistant gloves are required to prevent static discharge, such as when applying chemical sprays and finishes, or when installing wiring without having to worry about an arc flash occurring.
