The Ion Science Mercury Vapor Indicator (MVI) uses a dual-beam ultra-violet detector and is equipped with a high performance pump, which help to identify limited amounts of mercury vapor. The MVI's dual beam technology means the instrument does not saturate or require regeneration between readings as do traditional gold film detection methods, ensuring instrument downtime is eliminated. The MVI has a fast response time - approximately 3 seconds and its accuracy is greater than most competing models ( /- 10% compared to /- 20% accuracy from other manufacturers). After a short warm-up, the MVI gives real-time indication of mercury vapor levels through the PTFE probe. This instrument provides continuous readings, and there is no need to regenerate the instrument between readings.
